We're fine

Thank you for asking, those who have left comments and sent emails. The closest fire to us was about half hour drive away and was going in the other direction, we couldn't even smell the smoke. It was a horrible Saturday, the heat was bad but the wind, oh my God the wind was like being in a big windy washing machine, it blew all ways.

I can't watch the tv news without crying, the devastation, the lives lost. 84 dead. I know by the time I wake up tomorrow the death toll will have risen. I can't believe that some of the fires were started by fire bugs. As far as I'm concerned they deserve the death penalty. This is terrorism by our own on our own soil.

I'm just so sad for everyone.

Hi Carol!
Glad to hear that you're OK. I can't even imagine what you're going through. To know that a half hour away place you've been and seen are now gone. Is your mom and other family away from the fires as well?
Thinking of you!

Sooo relieved to hear you're all okay Carol - I don't think our fire hazard season is anywhere near as bad as yours, but I absolutely share your sentiments about the sick individuals that set fires deliberately - at the very least they should be forced into the frontlines to fight them. Stay safe now!!! Hugz!!!

Very hard to comprehend the loss of lives and homes. I had to turn the news off this morning - just far too sad.
