What a non day this has been

I was on an RDO today so wasn't going to work anyway, but slept solidly SOLIDLY until 10am this morning. That never happens. Woke with such a heavy head, but now the sneezing has made it's way to my chest and now I've got the whole broken cough thing, and every time I cough my head aches. Crawled back to bed at 1 in the afternoon and dozed on and off until 3pm. I ended up waking to find Lucky laying flat out on the bed beside me fast asleep and Molly laying on the floor as close as possible to the bed that she could. And they say animals aren't smart? I think they were being as sympathetic as they could.

Even now as I'm on the computer, Molly is laying right at my feet, not leaving my side.

What a difference a couple of weeks makes, these photographs were from last weekend when I went to visit Miss Nelli and take some progress photos of her to send to my brother. He can't wait until she comes home with him.

Credits here. Looks like I've really worked hard to put this page together doesn't it? So many different elements and shading and placements. Errr, well Roadside Designs has done the hard work, truly. Go check them out here. The templates are fabulous, lots of goodies to play with not only on the template but to drag onto your other pages. Lots of value.

And with that I do believe my bed is calling, how I can possibly be tired with all the sleep I had today is beyond me, but my eyes are drooping. G'night!

Rudolph's got nothing on me

The red nose, that is. I'm suffering big time right now from a head cold, runny nose, hacking cough. I dragged myself home from work tonight, and it's debatable as to whether I go tomorrow. I feel just shocking and I'm not far out of bed tonight.

So who else is suffering right now? I know so many people with like symptoms right now, it's obviously going around.

This will be a quick one tonight, another gratuitous puppy page. Get ready to saw awwwww. My sister-in-law meeting Miss Nelli for the first time, this was the day they picked her out of the bunch.

Using the fabulous Refresh kit by creashens.

So for those who read my blog and love digi scrapping, twolittlepixels is jumping right now, with lots new designers. So go check out the shoppe and all the lovely new pretties to play with.

And with that, I'm off to hit the bed.

My gosh

I went away on Saturday and never came back. Oh dear. Well I went to the art show and was blown away. This little country town, even littler than the one I live in, well there were hundreds of entries from all over the place. Absolutely amazing photographs that blew my mind. I never stood a chance. But it was such a magic time wandering around and seeing what worked and what didn't. My favourite was the animal section. I do think I'm drawn to photography of this sort. I enjoyed the whole experience. And how cool it was to walk down the aisle looking at photographs and see mine up there on the wall too. Big smiles!

I have these two wonderful new nephews who I adore. I love the way they call me "Ant Carol" with their American accents. And they are fun to photograph too. They've already learnt. When they see me they instantly look for the camera bag now, never one to miss an opportunity am I.

I can't even imagine how hard it must be for my sister-in-law and the boys. Being away from their family. Not being able to see their real aunts and uncles and grandma. Maybe that's why they are so affectionate to Mike and I. Who knows. I just know I love them both to bits. What a gorgeous boy David is growing up to be too. Watch out girls!

Well I have no plans this weekend. Not a one. I may do a little bit of cooking if the mood takes. I think I will go over and photograph Miss Nelli once again for Trevor and family. That won't be a hardship at all.

Oh and during the week, I went with some friends to see Abba Mania at the performing arts centre. A concert of a group who looked remarkably like Abba, singing all the hits. It was a lot of fun. And it did make me smile, the young kids in the audience, up and dancing. They weren't even born when Abba were huge. Do you remember when Fernando was number 1 here for absolutely weeks and weeks on end? What was your favourite Abba song.

I must admit I was partly more partial to the Bay City Rollers. Oh yes, I had roller strollers and everything. I must have had a thing for Scottish men all the way back then! ha.

Weekend

You gotta love weekends don't you? I headed to Geelong to spend a special day with my old workmates, the lovely girls who we get together and do beading or other such fun, like our fancy dress weekends. I have this lovely red beaded necklace which Mike gave me from a gift shop in town. We were able to work out how it was done so I've made a very similar green one which has thrilled me no end. Plus I made some drink markers, you know those little wine thingys that go around the stem of the glasses so you remember which drink is yours.

It's so much fun, lots of talking, and they get me to bring my latest photobooks down, and lots of fun plus we get to make things and actually finish them.

Sooooo tired now though.

Plus tomorrow I've entered my first ever photographic competition in Skipton. Judging has already happened but we can't get up there till tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how I went, I'm only in the novice section but you've got to start somewhere right?

Twolittlepixels has a few new designers in the shoppe now, and one is Roadside Designs with some absolutely fabulous templates to play with. Templates definitely have a place in digi scrapping, when you are lacking in mojo, when you want to get something down quick, when you need new ideas, and besides all that, they are just plain fun to use. Plus I love seeing them be used in so many different ways.

So I was able to put crops of a couple of the photographs I've entered in the competition in this template. Fun!

Happy Mothers Day

To all the mothers out there. Hope it's a good one for you. I received a box of chocolates from the menagerie. Very clever they are, aren't they? Being able to go shopping!

My brother, sister-in-law and two kids came down yesterday for a visit with a very VERY important job in mind. They were going to pick which puppy would be their forever dog. What a task, with five gorgeous squirming tubby little puppies to pick from. Now I ask you, seriously, which one would YOU pick? It's too hard, I want them all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Incidentally, through absolute no help from me, they picked my favourite. That darling middle one with the polka dot on her head, a little girl, which they are going to call Nelli. She had them at her first whimper.

So they can't take her until about 7th June or thereabouts, so what a hard chore I have now, taking photos of her so they don't miss out for one minute from now till then, with lots of cuddles thrown in. :-)

AAM #01

I'm playing along at Designer Digitals with their All About Me Challenge. It does sound absolutely self-indulgent but I'm enjoying it. Although I do appear in the pages I make, to actually scrap about one's self is quite daunting, putting it out there for future generations to read.

How amazing would it have been to read things, inner most thoughts, likes and dislikes of our relatives from years gone by. That's why I do this. One of these days I'll get Mike to answer the same type questions and put together an AAM for him, that's the one his kids will cherish.

But at the moment you've got me, ha. So for all you may have wanted to know, for all you couldn't care two hoots about, and then some, here it is. And I challenge you, even those of you who do not digi scrap, to ask yourself the same questions, answer it honestly, write it all down in a journal, or better still blog it! It's quite therapeutic.

So this first challenge was basically all about my likes, dislikes, favourite things, etc. Lots of fun. Hey Grasshopper (yes you! you know who I'm talking about), I think this is something you could do as well. What do you think?

I don't actually mind this photo, I needed a quick photo for the front page of my P365 album from last year, so I snapped it at the start of this year, being that I did my first page of that album last. It was before I went to work, grabbed the camera, ran into the bathroom, aimed at the mirror and snapped.

Sunday arvo

Sunday arvo in this neck of the woods. Roast lamb is cooking, smelling mighty delicious I might add. I've painted, yay! The rain held off. Nearly finished the side of the house now, just the high bits which Mike will get done when he can. I even gardened this morning. Me?!? Of the no gardening fame. I can't quite believe it myself. But I'm fascinated with the bulbs that I had planted starting to spring forth. I can't wait to see the colours when they come, but that's still a while off surely? Bulbs don't flower in winter do they? I have absolutely no idea. I think it's the ranunculas and the freesias that have started popping through the soil.

Bear with me, I'm pretty darn proud of myself.

We went to a 75th birthday surprise afternoon tea yesterday which was lovely. Just happened to be at the home of the friends with the puppies, so you can imagine where I spent a lot of my time! ha. They are adorable. So warm and cuddly. I have fallen in love with a darling one with a half tan head and a half white head with a polka dot on the top. But we can't have a third dog, no we can't, I'll just keep saying that to myself.

I couldn't resist snapping this yesterday. Get ready to say awwwwww!

Creashens is guesting at The Lily Pad at the moment, and this page was made from a kit she created especially for the guest spot, Some Kinda Wonderful. And that it is!

Haven't they grown in a couple of weeks from this, yet another awwwww moment!

(This was actually a square page, but white on white you can't see the edges!)

The computer program started at work, apart from a few bugs and the panic of not knowing how to do certain things, it looks fairly user friendly. Our first pay run will be the telling factor though! But it has made for an interesting past week, just trying to work our way around something different.

As for our first cars in my last post discussion, Catsmum mentioned at Hillman Hunter, oh that takes me back, I remember my grandpa had a Hillman, in probably that same shade of green tht my Datsun was, it was quite a horrid colour but obviously quite trendy for the time. And Lynne has mentioned the Ford Cortina, was it one where the lights at the back kind of poked up, like little cat ears on the back of the car? We had one of those, a white one, when I was growing up. Ahh! Memories.
