Tomorrow is the big game. I sooooo want the cats to win, please please please boys, do it for all the supporters. It's going to be one heck of a game with what did they forecast? Rain, hail, thunderstorms? Goodness. We have all our footy snacks ready, a big pot of soup will go on for lunch, Mr. T is here for the weekend and he's looking forward to it too.
Last night we had a really great night out. We went to see Lisa Williams in Melbourne. Who is Lisa Williams I hear you ask? If you don't have Foxtel or Austar you probably have never heard of her. Check her out here.
It was at Hamer Hall so it was a really large venue around 2000 people so the odds that she would find something to talk about with us, we were part of a group of friends who went, would have been extraordinary. And whilst Mike thought she was a bit vague with what she said early on in the night, she hit some huge home runs later in the evening with really left field comments that were true to the person she spoke to.
A friend asked me today if she had spoken to me what would I have wanted to say or was there a question I would have wanted to ask my dad, something I wanted answered? I thought about that, and the answer is no. My dad and I said everything we needed to say to each other before he died, he died knowing how much I loved him and vice versa. But I would like to know if he's still around, in spirit. Like is when we pass away just it, full stop, nothing more. Or are we still around in some form of light, love, or whatever you want to call it. Is he sitting here right now with me as I type, is he watching over mum as she sleeps, that kind of thing. That's all I would want to know. That and if he had no more pain.
Silly stuff isn't it? We could drive ourselves crazy with all these questions of the universe.
Here's a page I did a little while ago about my "flower moment" I had when my wedding flowers arrived. Did you have a "flower moment" too? My flowers were exactly as I had imagined, creamy white roses ringed with lavender, with smaller posies of the same for the girls. Gorgeous.
Credits here.
Enjoy tomorrow, and may the best team win (Geelong of course!!!)

Enjoying the week
I hope the Geelong (oh okay and the St. Kilda) fans are enjoying the week. We're having a blast in our office. I share an office with a lady who is a devout St. Kilda fan. So as the week has progressed, so has our decorating.
She put a scarf up.
I put a scarf up.
She put a poster up.
I put a poster up.
She put some balloons and streamers up.
I did so too.
Our office is a plethora of red/black/white on her side and the gorgeous blue and white on my side. I even made a blue and white cake for the office today, she refused to cut it and picked away the blue bits on the icing on her piece. hahahaha Oh it's all in good fun and has been hysterically funny. Office morale has sky rocketed. Everyone has been dropping by to see what we're up to next.
And you may remember from last year, but I think it's worth a second look, don't you? My ever suffering girl! ha.

Yahooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a match last night and I can't believe it, well I can of course, but my beloved Cats are in the finals again this year. COME ON BOYS !!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO EEEEET !!!!!!
At the end of every quarter I would text a phone message to my mum (an ardent one-eyed Collingwood supporter).
At the end of the first quarter: "Meow!"
Second quarter: "Purr Purr!!!"
Third quarter: "Hiss Hiss, Scratch Scratch!!!!"
And then when the final siren rang out: "The cats ate a pie for dinner tonight!"
hahahaha
She was not impressed.
At all.
Couldn't help myself either, I had to quickly come and document my excitement. And how better to do that, than with scrapbooking.
Credits here.
And the fact I share my office with a St. Kilda supporter will make for a very interesting week ahead. ha.
I have been remiss in updating my blog over this last week, but it's been a busy one. One for which was a certain girl was having a birthday. ME! We celebrated at a fabulous new Indian restaurant in Warrnambool. We had a banquet and it was to die for. Absolutely delicious. So much food. And I have to get the recipe for those little dumpling things and icecream which we finished off with, absolutely delicious.
Then Mike has come down with this horrid cold/flu/whatever it is. I was gearing up for a week of man disease, but as of last night it was fully fledged. He's had a horrible night up and down all night, coughing, spluttering. Touch wood I don't get it, but that will be a miracle. He's had such a broken sleep he's still in bed now and it's just gone 11am. I think to sleep it off will be the best thing.
Well a cup of tea time for me I think. And I'll finish off with two words.

Weekend
My goodness how warm was it today. Out of the blue like that too. Not sunny though, just muggy. Very unexpected. Oh sure of course the weather man did say it was going to be nice, but who believes the weather man? ha!
Mike was full up with a sneezes and runny nose on Thursday, but what does he do - go camping! Do you think there might be a week coming up of man sick in my future?? I say man sick because women just keep getting on with things, right ladies?? But err most men I know, when sick, lets just say the world stops spinning on its axis!
We've been full up with family commitments the last however many weeks, so number one it's good for Mike to go out and have a bit of "me" time with his detecting buddies, and me having a bit of "me" time having the house to myself. Although I've scrapped, I've also houseworked up a storm!! Is it possible to get high on the smell of Mr. Sheen? I love it.
Have I mentioned before that I have the coolest father-in-law? Well I do. He's 70-cough years old and look at him here, a jolly pirate. He crews on the Enterprize tall ship, it's become quite a love being out sailing. And let me tell you from having been on the ship with him, it's darn hard work all those ropes and sails and all. He loves it when they have pirate dress up days so couldn't help but scrap this one.

Father's Day
It's Father's Day in this end of the world, I know it's not in America, but today is the day here. We've had a nice day, the two youngest (ha! when I say youngest, I'm talking 16 and almost 15) stayed for the weekend and Mike has just driven them home now. We've had a lovely roast lamb for lunch followed by dessert of chocolate (birthday) cake. Mr. T didn't know it, but we thought we may as well celebrate his birthday a few days earlier seeings he was here. He was most surprised.
I didn't think I'd feel the pang of loss today as I did, but this morning after speaking to my father-in-law on the phone to wish him a lovely day, I promptly burst into tears. Feeling such an ache that my dad wasn't with us any more.
I know that today is no different to yesterday and no different from tomorrow, but I did feel his loss very much today.
So with that in mind I'll show you a page I did for our family album that I don't believe I've shared on here. My dad.
Credits here.
So the thought that I will leave you with as I finish this post, is if you have the relationship with your dad that I did with mine, to go hug your dad just that little bit tighter today and if you can't be with him, then pick up the phone and tell him you love him. One day, you won't be able to do that any more.

How quick has this week gone?
I can't believe it's already Friday tomorrow, how on earth did that happen? And it's now Spring. Well it's been coming for a while. Yes we have had it cold, yes we have had the rain, and more rain, and oh, did I say rain? But the blossoms have been out on the trees out in the back yard for a few weeks now, and the daffodils are blooming. Spring has definitely sprung. Now if only a bit warmer weather could come with it.
I was so fortunate to play with a new collab kit by creashens, Leora Sanford and Lynne-Marie called "Kaleidoscope" and all I can say is that it is a riot of colour, every colour of the rainbow and so incredibly fabulous to play with. I do like vintage, I like all the muted colours I tend to use, but boy oh boy I've loved playing with this.
And how cute is this little cherub, the daughter of my darling friend Tanya. Samara has the most expressive eyes, don't you agree? How lucky I am to get to play with photos of her. Thanks Tanya!
Now, go forth and check out Kaleidoscope. You'll absolutely love it!
