Well dress they did. There were hats and feathers, tiaras and furs, even a toy corgi on a leash, everyone really got into the spirit of the occasion and a lot of money was raised for the health centre.
Oh and we got titles, we walked the red carpet and were escorted to our chairs either in the east wing or the west wing! They played it to the hilt. I was Lady Carol. My friend was Countess Michelle. There were Duchesses, Dames and other titles I can't remember. The place settings were so cute, with our name and title tied to a shortbread biscuit and all the crockery was lovely bone china.
The magical moment when the Queen arrived...
After God Save the Queen was played the goodies arrived. Scrumptious!
They stayed in character ... "Countess Michelle, would you like another cup of tea?"
People enjoyed themselves immensely. Lots of chatter.
What's that? The royal engagement ring I spy...???
All too soon it came to an end. Bravo to the organisers, such a fun morning for a good cause. Plus it let a lot of women play dress ups for just a little while.
And before I leave you, picture this if you will. Imagine the wedding has happened, the vows have been said, and they're back at the castle for the balcony scene. Kate and Wills moves forward and kiss to the cheers of the people below. Can you just imagine the Queen doing this behind them ....
Fun fun fun!!
